China Business Trip Checklist
A productive China visit depends less on a perfect itinerary than on confirmed contacts, Chinese addresses, realistic travel time, and a backup for every meeting.
Before confirming the trip
- Confirm the full legal and trading name of every company
- Identify the person who will actually receive you
- Save their mobile number and WeChat
- Confirm the city, district, building, and factory gate
- Ask whether the office and factory are at different locations
Build a realistic schedule
Do not plan only from straight-line distance. Industrial parks, traffic, security registration, lunch breaks, and last-minute meeting changes can consume significant time. Leave recovery space between visits.
Carry the right files
Keep product specifications, quotations, drawings, sample references, and meeting questions available offline. Prepare a short Chinese version of the most important requests where possible.
Plan the local execution
- Who reconfirms each meeting the day before?
- Who speaks with the driver?
- Who handles a supplier that stops replying?
- Who reorganizes the route if a meeting moves?
- Who follows up on quotations and samples after the visit?
ChinaSide can act as a temporary local operations desk for supplier contact, meeting confirmation, multi-factory schedules, drivers, interpreters, and follow-up.
