Receiving or Managing a Parcel in China Without a Chinese Phone Number
Check with the seller and receiving hotel or recipient before shipping: they may be able to provide an authorized local contact for delivery. If the parcel is already moving, ask the sender or courier how delivery can be confirmed without your own Chinese number. ChinaSide can help communicate about a shipment, but cannot bypass account verification or provide access to someone else’s account.

What you can try yourself first
- Ask the seller which phone formats and delivery contacts their shipping process supports.
- With their permission, ask the intended recipient or hotel whether they can act as the delivery contact.
- Confirm the guest name, Chinese address, arrival dates and parcel acceptance policy before dispatch.
- For an existing shipment, share the tracking number with the sender and ask for a supported contact update.
Where international visitors often get stuck
A number accepted at checkout may still be difficult for a domestic driver to call. Some tracking or support channels require SMS verification; a local communication service cannot remove those account restrictions.
